THIS IS SPEEDRUN

SPEEDRUN is a server modification of Counter-Strike 1.6 created with AMX Mod X. It allows players to experience a different alternative of a gameplay and feel the rivalry of live racing with high speed, in difference to classic deathrun.

Mod was born in 2010 on cs-enemy.pl gameservers network, managed by hiroshima and soQl. In following of soQl's idea and hiroshima's request originally programmed by R3X on amxx.pl - biggest polish AMXX scripting forum. Two years later modified by nTiger and next 5 years later rewrited by pwned - both for HLDS and reHLDS. The game takes place on almost every deathrun map + independent maps created especially for the mod. The first map ever created for this mod is called speedrun_enemy, done by Abes Mapper, in 2010.

The gameplay involves bhopping1 from block to block, dodging obstacles and environment difficulties, to reach the end in fastest possible way and get the shortest time. It's not that easy! You have to strafe2 involuntarily and almost continuously, while rushing with staggering 2000+ speed and trying to rebound from another block to another without a miss. Winding corridors, great heights, open spaces, closed buildings, surf slides, everything to discover!

1- bhopping - GoldSRC engine technical attribute that allows to continuously rebounce with avoiding movement slowdown after touchdowns.
2- strafing - unexpected feature of GoldSRC enigne allowing player to accelerate (gain speed) while airtime (being in air), involves smooth and fast mouse left/fight movement synced with alternating A and D keys holding. It's that simple:Mouse to left, hold A. Mouse to right, hold D.

THE GAMEPLAY is simple, but not that easy at all!
It's based on GoldSRC feature, that allows player to turn while jumping, discovered by KreedZ.

To turn left while airtime, hold A button and move your mouse to left. Analogically into the right: hold D button and move your mouse to right. It's called strafing.

Gameplay sometimes requires advanced knowledge of movement techniques including Count Jump, Stand-Up Bhop, or Stand-Up Ground Strafe.

For surfing surfaces keys are inverted. To slide on right-skewed surf, hold A button. Also D button for left-skewed surf.

Wish you luck!
